TF1 sues Dailymotion, YouTube for USD 140 million

Dominant French TV broadcaster TF1 is suing French video-sharing website group Dailymotion and its US counterpart YouTube for USD 140 million for copyright violation and unfair competition. The move comes nine months after Viacom's similar lawsuit against YouTube. Le Point magazine reported that TF1 would file a law suit against the two companies. TF1 offers its own video-sharing service, called WAT, for "we are talented". Le Point writes that TF1 is seeking nearly EUR 39 million from Dailymotion and EUR 100 million from YouTube.
