TF1 sues YouTube for EUR 100 million

French broadcaster TF1 is suing video sharing portal YouTube for EUR 100 million over copyright infringement and failure to prevent content piracy, writes Les Echos. TF1 announced in December 2007 that it was planning to sue YouTube and its French counterpart, Dailymotion. Although litigation began against Dailymotion on 17 December, with a claim for EUR 39.7 million in damages, it took four months to move against YouTube.
