Thai operators, regulator agree to bill calls to the second

Thailand's National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) and five telecom operators agreed late last month to bill all airtime call packages launched after February 16 or March 1 at the latest, on a per -second basis, The Nation reported. The five operators include Advanced Info Service (AIS), Total Access Communication (DTAC), True, TOT and CAT Telecom. The average charge for second-generation service must not exceed 99 satang per minute. For 3G on the 2.1 GH spectrum, the price must not exceed 84 satang per minute, said NBTC secretary general Takorn Tantasith. Mobile-phone
