Thai regulator sets deadline for prepay number registration

Wednesday 3 June 2015 | 13:58 CET | News
Thailand's' National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) has urged MVNOs Samart, Loxley and 168 Communication to speed up the prepay number registration process. The NBTC found very little progress in the registration process. Only 14,000 numbers have been registered out of a total of 451,000, The Nation reports, citing an unnamed NBTC source. The NBTC had set 31 July as the deadline for registering all prepaid SIM cards. Unregistered prepaid users will not be able to make calls after this date.
