Thaicom sees Q1 profit jump nearly 30% to THB 700 mln

Asian satellite operator Thaicom reported a consolidated net profit of THB 700 million for the first quarter of 2016, which represents an increase of THB 160 million or 29.6 percent from THB 540 million in the year-earlier period. Revenue growth came mainly from sales of goods and rendering of services in the satellite business and the internet and media businesses, the company said. Excluding extraordinary items, such as gains from foreign exchange, the company posted normalized profits of THB 617 million.
