Thaicom's FY 2013 jumps on revenue growth, cost controls

Thai satellite operator Thaicom reported a net profit from continuing operations of THB 1.18 billion for FY 2013, up 72.9 percent from THB 682 million posted in 2012 on revenue growth, cost controls, and lower finance costs. Including the net loss from discontinued operations of THB 51 million, the company's net profit for 2013 amounted to THB 1.13 million, up 548.3 percent year-on-year. Revenues were up 8.7 percent to THB 7.90 billion, mainly due to revenues from the satellite business and the telephone and internet business in Laos.
