Thaicom's Q3 revenue plunges 17%

Asian satellite operator Thaicom saw its consolidated revenue from sales of goods and rendering of services reach THB 2.31 billion in the third quarter of 2017, which represents a decline of 17.2 percent from THB 2.7 billion in the year-earlier period. The revenue decrease was mainly due to a drop in revenue from satellite and related services, particularly from the decrease of Thaicom 4 broadband service revenue in Australia and Thailand, as well as a decrease in value added services on conventional satellites following a slowing trend in the Thai broadcasting industry, the company said.
