The People's Operator has nearly 70,000 customers

UK charity MVNO The People's Operator, owned by Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales, said it expects to have 69,000 subscribers by the end of the year and 140,000 a year later, according to Mobile News. The operator donates 10 percent of revenue to charity. Revenue from prepaid and postpaid customers are projected to reach GBP 8.1 million by the end of 2016. The company said its growth in the US market is being driven by a marketing campaign this month. It plans to use competitive prices to boost its US customer base to 75,000 by December 2016.
