Third of French internet users visit pirate video sites

A third of French internet users, or over 14 million people, visited pirate video websites monthly in 2015, according to a study by anti-piracy association ALPA, market researcher Mediametrie and the National Centre for Cinema and the Moving Image (CNC). The study found that an average of 35 million videos a month are streamed illegally. Direct downloads (DDL) are at record levels of 7.6 million users a month.
