Third of passed premises sign up for fibre in Scilly

Around a third of premises in the Isles of Scilly, UK, are using FttC technology only 6 months after launch, according to the Superfast Cornwall partnership. BT writes that the Isles of Scilly is among the leaders in the UK for take up of fibre broadband. All five inhabited islands on Scilly now have access to fibre broadband and 450 premises are now connected. Until superfast broadband arrived, the 2,200 residents of Scilly had relied upon a phone and broadband service provided by a radio link between Lands End and the islands. The multi million pound Scilly project is part of the GBP 132
