TI Sparkle to invest USD 300 mln in Seabras-1 cable

TI Sparkle, Telecom Italia Group's international operator, has announced a deal with Seaborn Networks to invest over USD 300 million in the Seabras-1 submarine cable between Sao Paulo and New York. The cable is scheduled to go into full operation by 2017 with an initial design capacity of 72 Terabytes and is designed to support the growing capacity demand originating in South America, especially Brazil, along the South to North America route.
