Tigo Bolivia negotiates satellite capacity contract with ABE

Friday 27 March 2015 | 13:30 CET | News
Bolivian mobile operator Tigo, owned by Millicom, is currently negotiating an agreement with the country's Space Agency (ABE) to contract satellite capacity from the TKSAT-1 (Tupac Katari). ABE's general director Ivan Zambrana said that the agreement is likely to be signed during April. The Tupac Katari satellite was launched into space in December 2013 and on 1 April 2014 began commercial operations. Some of the customers include state-oil firm YPFB, state-telecoms operator Entel, mobile operator Viva, the National Customs Service and the army.
