Democratic Republic of Congo operator Tigo, a Millicom subsidiary, has brought 3G+ services to the cities of Goma, Beni, Bukavu, Butembo and Uvira. These are the first places outside the capital, Kinshasa, to be upgraded. The municipal networks are connected by fibre. In-country since the start of 2007, Tigo DRC has invested USD 400 million, including more than USD 40 million in 2013. For this year, it expects to raise Capex to USD 68 million. The budget for 2014-2017 is over USD 200 million.
