TikTok refuses to display paid political ads

Chinese video app TikTok is refusing to display paid political ads on its platform as these don't represent the type of content it wants to provide, according to Reuters citing a company blogpost by VP TikTok's Global Business Solutions, Blake Chandlee. Created by Beijing Bytedance Technology, TikTok allows users to create and share short videos with special effects. The service is extremely popular among teenagers and post-millennials in Southeast Asia, including India.
