TIM Brasil approves infrastructure sharing deal with Oi

Thursday 2 October 2014 | 22:25 CET | News
The board of TIM Brasil has approved the extension of the contract it has with Oi to share the infrastructure of their LTE networks in the 2.5 GHz band, reports Telesintese. The RAN sharing agreement will thus reach over 88 cities in 2015. To date, the infrastructure sharing agreement was active in 45 cities. The agreement came into force in April 2013. The project aims to accelerate the deployment of mobile broadband. TIM plans to serve 52 percent of the urban population of the country at the end of next year with LTE technology.
