TIM Brasil confirms 2,000 cities to have 4G by end-2017

TIM Brasil CEO Stefano de Angelis reiterated the operator's goal of expanding the 4G network coverage to 2,000 cities by the end of 2017, which corresponds to 90 percent of the Brazilian urban population, reports O Estado de Sao Paulo. CTO Leornardo Capdeville added that the company currently has 4G coverage in 1,000 cities and is expected to reach 1,200 municipalities by the end of this year. TIM Brasil has just activated 4G coverage in the archipelago of Fernando de Noronha, the 1,000th region covered by the 4G network. In the 3G segment, TIM will reach 2,800 cities by the end of 2016.
