TIM Brasil expects start of OpenRAN in three years

Wednesday 25 November 2020 | 14:20 CET | News
TIM Brasil does not expect to launch an OpenRAN in the next three years, CTIO Leonardo Capdeville told Teletime. He said that work on the network began about two years ago and "there is still a long way to go before the technologies are mature". The operator is building, in partnership with Inatel, in Santa Rita do Sapucai (Minas Gerais), a test field to experiment networks based on the model. The tests are open to interested parties, such as developers and manufacturers.
