Telecom Italia (TIM) announced that its fibre-to-the-home network build in the northern Italian city of Bolzano has already reached around 25,000 homes just a few months after the rollout began. In the first 9 months of 2021, the company has deployed 1,000 new fibre-optic nodes, allowing customers to access the internet at download speeds of up to 1 Gbps, up from the previous maximum of 200 Mbps. TIM's investment in Bolzano will amount to EUR 6.5 million to connect a total of 39,000 homes by the end of the year.
