TIM expands FTTC network to Catania localities in EUR 1.5 mln rollout

Telecom Italia (TIM) has announced the activation of a fibre-to-the-cab (FTTC) service in the towns of Fiumefreddo di Sicilia, Linguaglossa and Calatabiano in the Catania province of Sicily following an investment of around EUR 1.5 million. The fibre service is already available in a total of 7,200 households in the localities following the connection of 52 street cabinets, giving customers access to the internet at speeds of up to 200 Mbps.
