TIM expands FTTH network to Montepulciano

TIM (Telecom Italia) has announced the launch of fibre-optic services in the town of Montepulciano in Tuscany. The operator rolled out around 6 kilometres of fibre-optic cables and connected 13 street cabinets, allowing users to access the internet at speeds of up to 100 Mbps. Under the company's new business plan, TIM has committed to investing some EUR 5 billion over the next three years to bring fibre-optic services to 95 percent of the Italian population by 2019.
