TIM expands Tuscan fibre network to Montignoso

Telecom Italia (TIM) has announced the launch of fibre-optic services in the town of Montignoso in the northern Tuscany region. The operator said it rolled out 28 kilometres of cables and connected 29 street cabinets, allowing users to access the internet at speeds of up to 100 Mbps. TIM recently committed to investing some EUR 5 billion over the next three years on expanding its fibre-optic coverage to 95 percent of the Italian population by 2019.
