TIM handed EUR 500,000 fine for foreign IBAN discrimination

Tuesday 14 July 2020 | 10:06 CET | News
Italian antitrust watchdog AGCM has fined Telecom Italia (TIM) a total of EUR 500,000 for failing to allow customers to pay for their fixed or mobile contract by means of a foreign current account following a probe launched earlier this year. Under EU regulations, operators are required to give customers the possibility of domiciling their monthly bills in European banks in the SEPA area.
