Thursday 21 April 2016 | 14:13 CET | News
TIM (Telecom Italia) has announced the activation of a fully operational fibre-optic network in the town of Conegliano in the Veneto region. The operator invested EUR 1.4 million to roll out 33 km of cables and bring fibre-based broadband at speeds of up to 100 Mbps to around 15,000 homes in total, equivalent to 95 percent of the local population. Last month Telecom Italia announced that it expects to increase fibre customers to 5 million by 2018, around 40 percent of its total broadband base.
