TIM spends EUR 350,000 on Morbegno FTTC, 4G rollout

Thursday 13 April 2017 | 10:15 CET | News
Telecom Italia (TIM) has announced that it has invested around EUR 350,000 to roll out a fibre-optic and 4G network in the town of Morbegno in the northern Lombardy region. The FTTC service has already been activated in around 4,000 households after 9 kilometres of cable were rolled out to connect 20 street cabinets. Customers in the connected areas can now access the internet at speeds of up to 100 Mbps. TIM recently announced that it expects to bring fibre-optic technology to 95 percent of the Italian population by mid-2018.
