TIM starts EUR 10 mln Fiumicino FTTH build

Friday 28 May 2021 | 14:37 CET | News
Telecom Italia (TIM) announced the launch of a fibre-to-the-home cabling plan in the town of Fiumincino on the outskirts of Rome in a total investment of EUR 10 million. The company said the build will eventually enable residents in around 21,000 homes to access the internet at download speeds of up to 1 Gbps, up from the current maximum of 200 Mbps. TIM's existing FTTC network in Fiumincino already covers around 24,500 homes, equivalent to 90 percent of the locality's total.
