Wednesday 15 September 2021 | 08:49 CET | News
Telecom Italia (TIM) has followed its implementation of fibre-to-the-home network connections at speeds of up to 10 Gbps by becoming the first Italian operator to successfully reach download speeds of 25 Gbps using a mix of GPON, XGS-PON and 25GS-PON technologies. The test was carried out in collaboration with Nokia at TIM's laboratories in Turin using optical line terminator (OLT) equipment already adopted in active exchanges.
