TIM to hike FTTC speed to 400Mbps with VDSL bonding

Tuesday 3 November 2020 | 10:27 CET | News
Telecom Italia (TIM) is planning to double to the speed of its FTTC lines from 200Mbps to 400Mbps next year using VDSL bonding technology, reports Mondo Mobile Web. The plans are included in a document submitted to regulator Agcom outlining the operator's 2021 proposal for its Virtual Unbundled Local Access (Vula) service. If approved, the new technology will also be offered on a wholesale basis to all fixed network operators currently using TIM's infrastructure, said the report.
