Ting Mobile backs right to repair with new payback programme

US MVNO Ting Mobile has announced a move to actively support proposed right to repair legislation with a new broken phone payback programme backed by a wide-ranging survey of consumers. The "Epic Phone Fails" survey revealed that 78 percent of respondents had no idea what the right to repair is even though 69 percent said they would prefer to either repair their own phone or pay to have someone repair it than to buy a new phone. In addition, 64 percent of respondents said they'd purchase DIY repair kits if the phone manufacturer offered them.
