Tirol businesses start joint initiative for Chinese payment methods

Wirecard and Tirol Werbung have launched an initiative to make mobile payments available to travellers from China, reports Die Presse. Participants in the China Pay initiative include Innsbruck Tourismus, Kitzbuhel Tourismus, Otztal Tourismus, the St Anton Tourist Board and the Swarovski Crystal Worlds. The aim of the project is to cover the entire federal state of Tirol with the payment service of Wirecard and so introduce Chinese mobile payment methods such as Aliplay at Tirolean companies. To start, 150 companies in the region will be equipped with the payment system.
