TiVo launches TiVo Roamio DVR
TiVo has announced the launch of the TiVo Roamio DVR, its new box for recorded, on-demand and over-the-top TV. The Roamio DVR series includes three models: TiVo Roamio (USD 199.99), TiVo Roamio Plus (USD 399.99) and TiVo Roamio pro (USD 599.99). Roamio features four or six tuners and storage ranging from 75 hours to 450 hours of HD content. The improved speed and performance of TiVo Roamio also includes integrated wireless and TiVo Stream functionality in certain models. In addition Roamio features: coming soon, out-of-home streaming, updated HD screens and fonts with nearly twice the performance, a personalised dashboard, guide filters, a new application platform that leverages HTML5, an improved remote with RF connection, the ability to manage the DVR with a mobile phone or tablet and TiVo Mini software that has been updated to include Netflix and dynamic tuning. The TiVo Roamio can be purchased online at TiVo.com, Amazon.com and BestBuy.com and in Best Buy stores in the coming weeks.

Tivo posts record net profit on patent settlement

Tivo reported a record net profit of USD 268.9 million for its fiscal second quarter ended 31 July, thanks to legal settlements with Cisco and Motorola over patent disputes. In the year-earlier period, Tivo had a net loss of USD 27.7 million, and the company had forecast a loss of USD 13-16 million for the period. Grouper to integrate TiVo TV, movies into social experience

TiVo and Grouper, a technology-based social club, have announced a partnership that will integrate TV and movie themes into the Grouper experience. The partnership, rolling out in late August will create integrated brand experiences in select markets by offering TV trivia during Grouper gatherings, themed parties and photo challenges.
