TNM FY results fall on Covid-19 challenges, VAT claim

Malawi operator TNM said its revenue decreased by 6 percent to MWK 90.89 billion in 2020, hurt by the Covid-19 disruptions. Mobile data revenue grew by 17 percent to MWK 19.83 billion, and mobile money revenue grew by 28 percent to MWK 9.35 billion, and growth in the subscriber base helped compensate for lower usage. The group focused on preserving margins and profitability of the business, TNM said.
