TNM withdraws from National Bank of Malawi platform

Malawian operator TNM has withdrawn from the National Bank of Malawi (NBM) mobile phone platform after disagreements over charges. Both companies are subsidiaries of conglomerate Press Corporation. NBM has been fighting radio adverts that said starting 09 June, its mobile phone transaction platform Mo626 will only be on Airtel Malawi for free and not TNM. According to Nyasatimes, insiders said the bone of contention is the charges that TNM wanted NBM to be charging its customers of up to MWK 30 per session.
