TOT argues 900 MHz spectrum licence valid until 2025

Thai government-owned communications carrier TOT has opposed a plan by the regulator to auction off its 900 MHz spectrum after concessions end. TOT granted 900 MHz spectrum to AIS under the concession contract, which will end in 2015. The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) plans to auction off this spectrum as well as 1800 MHz spectrum that CAT Telecom has provided to its concessionaires. However, TOT argues that the 900 MHz spectrum was granted until 2025 and that it therefore has a right to hold on to the spectrum until then, The Nation writes citing TOT
