TOT, CAT told to draft interim service plans

Thai state-owned telecommunications providers TOT and CAT Telecom have been told to prepare interim plans to ensure continued service to customers after concessions expire. The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) aims to prevent any problems that could stem from the expiry of the concession contracts and aims to plug possible loopholes under which the two companies might seek to extend the terms of the concessions, The Nation writes citing NBTC commissioner Suthiphon Thaveechaiyagarn. Two CAT concessions, for TrueMove and Digital Phone Co (DPC), are set to expire
