TOT prioritises 3G rollout

The new chairman of Thai state-owned telecommunications carrier TOT, Suchart Wonganancha, has asked the company to make the 3G rollout its first priority, The Nation reports. TOT will install 9,500 more 3G base stations for its 2.1 GHz network. The first phase of 5,320 sites is expected to be completed this year after a delay from last year. Furthermore, the company plans to have 15,320 3G sites operational within two years.
