TPG buys Wave for USD 2.365 bln

Private equity firm TPG Capital has announced it will be buying US regional broadband operator Wave for USD 2.365 billion. Wave is currently owned by Oak Hill Capital Partners, Wave management, and GI Partners. Following the transaction, RCN and Wave will combine to create the nation's sixth largest cable operator, with a presence across seven of the top ten cities in the US. The transaction is expected to close in the second half of this year, subject to the usual closing conditions and regulatory approvals.
