TPG Telecom to buy Telecom's AAPT - report

Telecom New Zealand will sell its Australian subsidiary AAPT to Australian telecommunications firm TPG Telecom. TPG bid around AUD 440 million for the company, Reuters reports citing a source close to the matter. Telecom picked TPG as the preferred bidder over three other bids submitted by Pacnet, private equity firm Quadrangle Group, and Australia's Optus. TPG recently also acquired network business Pipe Networks.
