TRA plans 5G spectrum allocation and fast in-flight internet

UAE's Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) is discussing plans to allocate new bandwidth compatible with fifth generation mobile networks, enable airlines to provide high-speed broadband internet connection during flights at lower costs, and develop a global maritime distress system. These initiatives were revealed during its participation at a recent seminar organised by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) in Geneva.
