Travel apps used by nearly two-thirds of Germans - study

Nearly two-thirds of Germans (63%) use travel apps on their smartphone or tablet during their vacation, according to a survey of 1,012 Germans over the age of 16 by the German digital association Bitkom. The most popular types of apps used are weather apps (57%), translation apps (39%) and navigation apps to locate travel destinations (29%). About 15 percent of respondents said they use travel-planning apps like Google Trips or Tripwolf as well as travel guide apps from publishers, while 10 percent said they use travel apps provided by city destinations or tourist sites and booking apps.
