Trident, LG CNS to offer advanced Android STB

TV semiconductor provider Trident Microsystems has collaborated with South Korean LG CNS to offer advanced Android-based hybrid STB in its set-top box SoCs. Trident and LG CNS worked together to offer a system service to enable service operators to provide products that merge traditional broadcast content, VoD and IP-based content. Trident's ARM-based SoC service supports the Android ecosystem. Trident's support of the Android OS also allows service providers to offer business models with applications and services for subscribers.
