Trinidad & Tobago to launch mobile and fixed line porting

Trinidad & Tobago telecoms regulator TATT has announced an agreement with Dutch firm PortingXS to implement mobile and fixed number portability in the twin island country by 31 March. The country's leading telecoms service providers, including Digicel, Columbus, Lisa, Massy, Open Telecom and TSTT, met at TATT's headquarters on 16 February to sign the contract with PortingXS, which already operates the number portability system in nearby countries such as Jamaica, Panama, the Bahamas and the Cayman Islands.
