Trust is main barrier to mobile commerce growth – study

Friday 21 February 2014 | 09:35 CET | News
Nearly 30 percent of consumers worldwide consider trust as the single largest obstacle to using mobile to purchase goods and services, according to a study by MEF, carried out in association with AVG Technologies. However, only 9 percent of these users claim to have actually had a negative experience. This year, 40 percent named trust as one possible barrier to purchasing via mobile. In 2013, the number was 35 percent against 27 percent in 2011. Lack of trust is expected to prevent one in two mobile media users from purchasing via their phone by 2015.
