Tunisian govt reduces VAT on residential fixed internet service

Monday 7 January 2019 | 10:20 CET | News
The Tunisian government has reduced the value-added tax (VAT) applied to fixed internet services in homes to 7 percent from 19 percent , as stipulated in the Finance Act 2019, which came into force after its publication in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Tunisia, Africanmanager reported. This will allow the systematic reduction of broadband subscription fees and will encourage an increase in subscribers. It aims to ensure social inclusion, narrowing the digital divide between regions and facilitating consumer access to the internet.
