Tunisiana launches 3G services

Qtel Group's Tunisia unit Tunisiana has launched 3G services, covering 48 percent of the North African country's population. Tunisiana will offer 3G services in the regions of Tunis, Sfax, Sousse, Djerba, Cap Bon, Hammamet and Nabeul. It said the aggressive roll-out will soon be extended to cover 71 percent of the population by the end of the year and 87 percent by early 2013. Tunisiana's license allows the company to deploy an HSPA+ network on both 900 MHz and 2100 MHz bands, providing for deeper indoor coverage for customers and high definition voice quality.
