Tuesday 5 April 2016 | 09:49 CET | News
The number of internet subscriptions in Turkey rose by 17.8 percent year-on-year and 3.9 percent sequentially in Q4 2015 to 48.6 million, according to a report by telecommunications authority BTK. The sequential growth was due to the increase in the number of mobile and fibre internet subscribers. The total number of fixed-line subscribers dropped to 11.49 million from 11.7 million in Q3. At the end of 2015, there were more than 73.6 million mobile subscribers, which corresponds to a 93.5 percent mobile penetration. The number of 3G subscribers in the fourth quarter was over 64 million.
