TV-related Tweets rise by 11 percent a year in France

French TV viewers use a connected device while they are watching TV for nearly 7 minutes a day, on average, according to audience measurement company Mediametrie. This usage consists mainly of social network messaging during programmes. The number of TV-related tweets in France grew by an estimated 11 percent to 101 million tweets. The Miss France vote spurred people to send 1.3 million tweets. Talent competitions like 'The Voice' and 'Les Victoires de la Musique' are much tweeted about.
