Twint, Paymit get competition greenlight for merger

The Swiss competition authority has approved the merger of the mobile payment systems Twint and Paymit, first announced in May. The companies announced that they will continue operations under the name Twint. By November, their payment systems and services should be integrated, and from next January, customers will be migrated to the new platform. Twint also announced that the Banque Cantonal de Vaud has joined as a new shareholder, alongside Credit Suisse, PostFinance, Raiffeisen, UBS and ZKB, as well as the retailers Coop and Migros and Swisscom.
