Twitter confirms meeting with Nigerian government over ban

Twitter has confirmed that it has met with the federal government and discussed why the micro-blogging app was blocked in Nigeria and ways to resolve the matter, reports CommunicationsWeek. The move comes after Lai Mohammed, minister of information and culture, said that Nigeria will lift its ban on Twitter, in a matter of days. A Twitter official confirmed the recent meeting. Twitter said the aim is to chart a path forward for the restoration of Twitter in Nigeria and the company looked forward to ongoing discussions with the Nigerian government and seeing its service restored very soon.
