Twitter suffers temporary global outage

Twitter has confirmed that its social network was hit by outages in several parts of the world, above all Europe, starting at around 0900 GMT on 19 January. "Some users are currently experiencing problems accessing Twitter. We are aware of the issue and are working towards a resolution," said the company on its own Twitter status board. The outage affected access from web and mobile platforms and appeared to be concentrated in the UK, France and Germany, according to Twitter monitoring service DownDetector.uk.
