Two out of three online Germans use messengers

More than two thirds (69%) of German internet users aged over 14 send messages via messengers such as WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger or iMessage, according to a recent Bitkom survey. These are especially popular among young people between 14 and 29, and people between 30 and 49, 82 percent or respectively 81 percent of whom use messengers, compared with 59 percent of those aged 50 to 64 and 28 percent in the generation over 65.
